How to quit from a company?

I agree with DockBumper. I've been lied to as well, but 99% of that can be avoided by asking the right questions and checking reviews out. A recruiters job is to sell the company to the driver. Some mega carriers they only care about the number's in the door. Smaller companies care about retention rates as well, a smaller company (good company) is going to care if a recruiter lies because then ALL of the drivers are going to quit. I think more often than not a driver doesn't ask the right questions, and misses things, rather than being lied to.

 

If anything User666 is the one here to stir things up.

 

I definitely agree the drivers are sometimes to blame as well. Some of them are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

Doesn't matter. If two members get into a bickering contest and hijack the thread they both get banned from that particular thread.
Two people who can't get along have no right to take over an entire thread.
You guys can agree to disagree and conduct yourselves like gentlemen or you can sit this one out.

 

I'd quit while on home time parked at your approved location.

Alot easier than dragging your crap out and having to go home with it if you left it at the yard.

No need for the two week notice. Just say hey guys truck is here have someone come pick it up. Just make sure you take pictures of the condition of the vehicle. The guy that comes and picks it up won't want to sign anything.

 

Not true ... I went back to a couple of companies. I enjoyed it both times. Feels like your ahead of the game , like you know people. I even went back to swift. If you need to take a vacation , work for them. Soon as you get your truck you can disconnect the black box and go on your Mary way for at least a week , have fun. I have concluded that it is impossible to get fired from that company.

 

I have a load delivering roughly 200 miles from my companies terminal so if I send them a message saying I won’t be accepting any more loads and am taking the truck and trailer to the terminal, they can’t hit me with anything negative right?

 

As a driver, you park your truck at a random location that actually has truck a few truck spots near your home, after you pick up a load that is supposed to be delivered the next day. Then lie and claim the truck is broke down, leaking oil and coolant. Make sure you note this on your dvir because it makes it more legit. Now you've covered all your bases and when the company has another driver come to inspect the truck, you can just sit there in your personal vehicle like a complete dip #### and not worry about what happens after that.

Bonus points if you do it a week after you park your broke down truck that you cant make the payment on at the companies main yard and just abandon it.
