This just in; I got a call today from recruiter, telling me I am disqualified from employment due to refusing a breathalyzer back in 1994,even though,I was found, not guilty, of the DUI charge. Now I am bummed out.Thank God he told me before I headed 1300 miles out to their headquarters,in Cedar Rapids,Iowa. Now what do I do?

Armysoldiertrucker.....I wonder if there is a...what's the word....statute of limitations as to how long that is supposed to stay on your record....like for an example on credit a bankruptcy has to be droppe from credit records after ten years...I used to be a loan officer and I would find cases where it was still on after 10 years and would have to have the people work on getting the records corrected etc.

Some states allow for expungement, & some do not. Even in states where expungement is not an option, there are legal steps you can take to create the same effect as an actual expungement.

Expungement might be another thing to look at....

There is time limits, where stuff on your driving record, will drop off.Unfortunately for me,I live in screwball Massachusetts, where we are 1 of 2 states (Wyoming),that keep records forever. Most states are 5-10 years. This happened 15 years ago.I was a swiller, back then, and a meatball.I guess the saying is true"you make the bed,you sleep in.It`s a #### shame, because you can be a homosexual, and marry your man,but you can`t refuse a breathalyzer, and get a trucking job, even after becoming a US soldier, and proving that 15 years ago,you had your head screwed on crooked, but have since had it straightened. My recruiter was very nice,at CRST,and said he didn`t agree with it,but,it was company policy, and that not to give up,some companies, might not care.Guess I will try Swift.Heard they hire all kinds of #######.Just hope,I don`t die while in training.Heard they have a deplorable safety record.:biggrin_25510:

from the people i seen hired on at CRST its a complete surprise they denied you. but if I were you I would try Werner also. Swift is alright to start out with but they tend to be made fun of on the road, not saying I wasnt made fun of over the cb driving for CRST since we are governed at 65 miles an hour lol. Hell CRST sent me a post card asking me to come back im kinda thinking about it if i can find that #### post card! So if i do ill be looking for a good co-driver, gonna be hard to find a replacement for my last one!
