I've heard that UPS makes you do 500 pushups at the start of your shift, so I'm out.

 

You know anyone in FL who wants to run Flex Team? I just called Estes, and I would need to bring a driver to get hired.

 

My buddy works for them, and he said they pay 20 cpm each. 40 cpm is way less than I make as an owner op. Especially to put up with all that micromanagement!!!

 

Hey Kao, I hope you didn't misunderstand me man. I did say in my OP that LTL guys are home WAY more than OTR guys. I wasn't trying to say LTL was like OTR.............. But, with extraboard you would still stay in a hotel some nights. Hence, why I thought bringing a cooler with some home cooked food to heat up at the hotel would be nice and wondered if other drivers did the same.

 

Guys bring coolers all the time, yes. Saves money in the long run.

They generally have a dolly with a bunch of things bungee corded to it, which often includes a cooler.

 

20 cpm each. But it's paid out in quarters. So you get 80 cents per mile each.

 

The math checks out.

 

I heard the opposite. I heard they have steak for lunch everyday and they pay half your bills every month

 

Nah, dude. In training they make you do a trust fall into the arms of another driver so that you learn to trust UPS over anybody else in your life.

(This one I really heard. True story.)
