On the home stretch now with just over 400 miles to the receiver. I think I'll lower the tarps tomorrow going through PA because there is supposed to be fog and I want to keep as much moisture off them as possible. On track to make it there before my 2pm cutoff but I only berely. I'm wondering if I should raise the tarps before I get to the receiver though so I don't risk any rejection because of that. There is a small chance of rain tomorrow so only time will tell. If I dont get somehow screwed by the receiver I'd have no problems doing onions again if the price was right. It's definitely the most stressful trucking I've done but will be worth it if the rest of the trip goes smoothly.

A1AF2EA0-92DE-4A7C-AE62-EF7206880B98.jpeg I buy them in a 50 lbs bag at work for about 14 dollars. Take one cut up with me in my lunch sometimes. Usually when I work on a day off as a helper. Eat them early in the morning. Driver gets disgusted. Pretty funny. Then share them in the afternoon. Even funnier.

So RA we are left wondering what the outcome was with your onion delivery.
Is everything signed off on and in good standing, or did they direct you to the landfill?

    How about an update?

    RunningAces Thanks this.

Oh, I must have posted in the wrong guy thread yesterday with my update. It was a success though. They got me a door immediately after I untarped at the receiver and handed me my paperwork. Signed and note free, so I guess my work paid off this time. In hindsight I will do onions again for the right price. I did get smacked with a lumber fee of $95 bucks though. Thats the first time I've ever had to deal with those ####ers, seems very scammy to me.

might be the best $95 you will ever spend

back in time - A certain stubborn driver I know found out about the onion lumper fee and told the place in Miami in July he wasn’t gonna pay.....he might still be sore and tired to this day almost 30 years and 1000 50lb bags later!

I'm not afraid of a little exercise but that would be a bit much. Reefer guys would probably laugh at a skateboarders gripes about lumpers. It's just not something that has ever come up before and now I know to find that out and negotiate a little higher to cover it.

    D.Tibbitt and cke Thank this.

they taste better after being tarped with the same tarps that were used to cover greasy machinery or chemicals.
