Does anyone have information on what all needs to be done to get this kind of set up going? Prices & places to get it done? I have read where you have to have fenders installed as well as mud flaps I think. And then there is the goose ball hitch installed some way. Ram shows you can order a 52gal. & 22gal. fuel tanks, so maybe an auxiliary tank wouldn't be need but an extra tool box would probably be great.

I have the 52 and 22 fuel tanks. Had my upfit done at hitchcrafters. $3k, 2 tool boxes.
Btw, truck with upgraded 19.5 steel wheels, full tanks and all kit is almost 10k lbs
singlescrewshaker and Lite bug Thank this. -
That is a nice clean set up. I think I have seen where you run cars. I like that most (if not all) car haulers are a 5th wheel set up instead of gooseneck ball. I would think the 5th wheel set up would help a lot with sway & trailer frame flex.

Single pivot 5th wheels are the only safe ones to use for car hauling if you ask me. No lean in the trailer means less chance of a flip. Fifth wheels that are dual pivot not only flip but flip the trucks themselves. A gooseneck will at least release on a far enough lean and disconnect from the truck. Dual pivot fifth wheels are for RVs only.

I don't think the DOT requires fenders so far as I know so long as you have mudflaps. Semi's aren't required to have fenders just mudflaps. Obviously, fenders will keep things cleaner.
I just outfitted my F550 myself and I didn't put fenders on it yet, I'm just running a temp mudflap set up because I will be building out some actual fenders & frame catwalks. -
You have a CDL?
