    Now, look at your net for the pay period and see if you've been bumped up to a higher tax rate.
    Sometimes those extra hours and extra gross pay aren't really doing you any good.

    I know I will pay more in taxes but I should still see a larger check.my wife and file jointly and she no longer has a job. I have two young boys.... dependents as well

    im not in a position to do that right now. my wife lost her job and thus far no unemployment. i am making sure we arent living broke. im paying off debt too

    have had 3 weeks in a row all $1,700+ gross every week. i end up netting around $1,350 take home on that. currently we have 3 drivers out of work, two in the hospital and one had his brother die, so i am getting more extra loads then unusual, plus ive been working 7 days. i think im doing well for a local driver, and probably just as much as most OTR guys make.
