You'll hate me then....my 4000 miles a week days are over.
I hit 1800 Wednesday morning....and was ready to come home.
SOB wouldn't let me though. So I'm going to be stuck with about 3300 for the week Sunday evening to Friday evening.... with 2 nights this week at home...######.
Second week of deer season...and I STILL haven't been in the woods.

Most people don't think 2500 miles is a hard week. Way things are right now where I work I wish I could average that per week. But it's a major yo yo affect week after week when it comes to miles. The point is if he feels he cannot do the load safely and/or legally then he has the right to voice his concerns to his dispatcher and company. Now if he was one who said that about every load he got? Yeah he definitely would be a whiner.
-
If/ When I have an issue like that I will call the broker the day I take the load. Maybe even before I accept the load.
That way they know what is going on and can be proactive in getting the delivery time set back. Many times on these things it is the broker that says it will be there that day, not the receiver. The receiver just says ok to whatever day the broker gives, and then makes a time.
Normally there is no issue.
Or maybe I have been on flats too long.....LooneyTune Thanks this. -
Me and you both. Delivered 6 loads this week(incuding a 2 stopper and a 3 stopper), and only sitting on 1800 miles right now, get home tonight with around 2200.
As far as the guy in CA with the GA load goes, I wouldn't hesitate to grab it and go. I don't think I have ever refused anything, not for his reasons anyway.
But that's just me. Could be an old dog new tricks thing, I don't know.
But that's his choice and I'll tend to my own affairs and let him tend to his. -
Yeah NO DOUBT!
Carson to Charlotte is a two day run
Got reefer? Thanks this. -
But this #### about how folks are happy with 2500 miles a week as a company driver and anymore is a hard week #### has got to go.[/quote]
What's got to go are the loose cannons that think or believe they're above the law just because their house or truck payment is too high. If you can't make a living driving legal go get a real job. -
I notice you won't tell us if you actually drive a truck or not, so maybe you will never understand the mind of a veteran.
"Driving legal" as you put it doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with ones income.
It's more of a state of mind, and there are some of us who still have a certain work ethic that drives us to accomplish the mission in a timely manner regardless of the legalities involved
It's all a matter of risk/reward. Some people are willing to take the chance and others aren't. I don't judge people either way, just tend to my own affairs, as we all should. -
I did it. Not really a big deal. 4800+ miles from 10/06/09 to 10/12/09.
The big deal is that some friggin mouse driver can book a load and expect me to do it. He doesn't have the first thing to loose. I am the one that takes the risks. My salary was at stake the minute I passed 70 hours then went through the state scales. Sure, my logs showed 48 hours------but that ONLY gets you through the scale house. Your logs won't survive and inspection if something, anything happens whether it is your fault, the other driver's fault, anybody's fault, everyone's fault or no one's fault. You are where you are not supposed to be opperating a CMV.
The DOT officers have every bit of latest techno stuff to use against a driver. A driver has an ink pen and a stack of logs. It's not a lot different than bayonet charges into the face of machine gun fire. -
It still shows I have no "My Trucking Photos" and I have posted several.
Anyone know why?
