You said it wouldn't go thru the gears without a terrible miss.
Was the miss like a hesitation to go into the next gear? Can you elaborate on that?
Thanks

No it was a continuous hesitation like it was starving for fuel. It took a long time of feathering the throttle just to get it up to 45 mph to make it to the next off ramp. Idling was fine, soon as you hit the accelerator it would bog down and never really catch

Thanks for replying. Can you tell me if my situation sounds similar to yours. And i probably need a ecu. How are you all doing out there today?
Well I have a problem with my flash codes on this cat C-15.
I've done the thing with the Cruise control to get the flash codes and I've did it about five times but the codes I'm getting aren't right.
But maybe someone can tell me if I'm wrong.
Ok. Code 14, 79, 39, 39, 5. I can't find these codes. If anybody has any suggestions or pray experience with this please share it with me. Thanks in advance. -
And it still drives bit it does that bog down thing now when it's going into the needy gear. Usually one thru five. Not all the time but it's getting worse.

Have you looked over the injector harness/plug real good? Those codes are odd, take it to someone with a computer and see if they show up. Only other way to see if its an ecm is to swap it with another one and see if the codes go away, or If you dont have access to one, just buy one and have the dealer flash it, if your running stock that is. I couldnt find a used one that was guaranteed, out the door good, and i was in a time crunch, new one flashed was 2700$ If i remember correct

Consider installing a ScanGuage D or KR. You can then view engine parameters while driving and scan codes directly (no counting/guessing flashing lights). It's cheap insurance.

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever figure this code 8 out? Mine started doing it this morning on my 04’ MBN and I can’t find anything. My ecm is only about 4 years old, replaced the old one because the injector drivers went out. I feel no performance difference and the check engine light doesn’t stay on. I only found out when I was being nosey looking for the 55 code.
thanks
