Well they mean something cause since I got mine over a year ago, I haven't had an inspection....D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
And I haven't been inspected in 5 years without a sticker. Your point?snowwy Thanks this.
-
Your probably local.
My point is it tells the officers you have been recently inspect..ZVar Thanks this. -
I am, and I was being facetious. But even OTR I went a year without getting an inspection. And even "local" I ran over scales on a daily basis for a couple of those years.Final Drive Thanks this.

Lucky you.
But it don't mean anything. You can still get inspected 5 minutes later.
I got inspected 2 scales in a row. With a newish FL and trailer.Final Drive Thanks this. -
I had the same thing done to me on the second one I told the officer that I had just been inspected. He replied let me see your paperwork, he reviewed and replied, driver you mean to tell me that I won't find nothing wrong with your truck. I replied no Sir just stating that I just got inspected..
Gave me my paperwork back and politely told me to get the hell out of dodge...snowwy Thanks this. -
The first 10 months I ran a placarded tanker, I had 11 dot inspections. That sticker didn't mean squat. Those placards look like dollar signs to the DOT cops.
D.Tibbitt, Old_n_gray and ZVar Thank this. -
I actually inquired about this issue and found that a few other businesses had this same issue. Drivers won't be aware of it depending on what app they're accustomed to using. For example Samsara won't put you in drive mode when you move the truck, so if you go to keeptrucking and it does the same thing you're not likely to question it. So my issue is, it needs to be made aware to drivers of smaller companies that if your keeptrucking app isn't putting you in drive mode to call your dispatcher and immediately have it fixed to avoid any roadside issues. This is a site to help drivers and I feel this is worthy enough to be mentioned.

I've been pulled in/over for inspections maybe 6 times in my nearly 10 years out here.
Pulled over once when I was hazmat.
That went better for me than the officer.
I followed him to an inspection area and he began the inspection.
Then he got stung by a bee and started feeling queasy, so he finished it pretty quickly and cut me loose.
