I sure hope trucks dont end up looking like this in the future because i wouldnt drive it.I would rather spend 10k a year on diesel a year and have good looks than drive this.I also wonder if it can survive an accident:biggrin_25512:

The turbine thing is another problem. It's been tried in a car, and it didn't work very well. They're extremely noisy (even with modern technology) and they don't work well in direct drive situations because turbines don't spool very quickly. Makes for horrible acceleration.

It might work in a turbine/electric setup, but you still have the noise problems. I'm not saying it's going to work ever, but there are some serious problems to still overcome.

With that said, turbines require much less maintenance overall. Of course, when they do need something, it's nothing to be $10K at a time.

    I agree.

The day that air cleaners, long square hoods, stacks on the cab, and fuel tanks/steps showing goes out, I go right out of the industry with it!

and if something goes wrong inside the turbine such as a big stone or something gets sucked into it, that it becomes a shrapnel bomb
