I have a 2016 cascadia and seems to hit hard almost like its light in front. I was thinking about moving the 5th wheel one hole fwd. Kingpin is just behind the front drives where I see most located amd where almost all are located on other trucks as well. If I move 5th wheel one hole fwd can I adjust the weight with tandems if needed.. I'm trying to figure out how the hell I can find a better ride besides getting into a diff truck..lol
Never drove a crapcadia before and glad to. The shocks when purchased were shot and we put new shocks on it. -
Never driven a cascadia before and just dk why this ######## hits so hard in front like that. If I slide tandems back a little I can feel that steers are heavier I did not weight I know from experience it's not that heavy so if it's over it's now alot but the truck rides alot better down highway. I know I should go weigh it and see but havent yet i wasnt at 80k when i did this i was only 78k

Moving the 5th wheel forward one hole will add about 500 pounds to the steers.
That will give you more wiggle room between the drives and tandems, but make sure it did not put your steer axle too heavy. -
Right that's kinda what I was thinking. If I move the 5th wheel one or even two notches then I should be able to adjust that weight off the steer with the tandems.. but the issue is I'm tryim to find a spot that will keep the truck from hitting so hard on front end. Almost like maybe the 5th wheel needs to be moved up for more weight amd then adjust from there. Just seems real odd how hard it hits and ####ty it rides. This is my first crapcadia in over 20 yrs. I've always had a Pete or KW amd even a mack or star here and there in oilfield. This thing is ridiculousBrettj3876 Thanks this.

The kingpin is moved to get the correct weight on the steers, with a full load of fuel and payload.
Then it usually stays there forever.
Not usually moved to simply make the ride a bit better, since that could put you seriously overweight on the steers if you go in that direction. -
And, by the way, the 5th wheel adjustment will not change the tandem weight.
It will only shift the weight between the steers and drive axle.
Adjusting the tandems will not change the steer weight much at all.gentleroger Thanks this. -
Full tank of fuel and max weight load adjust 5th wheel to put 12,500 on the steers.
And call it good forever.
My truck is a see saw effect. My steers weigh almost 13 when I'm empty. 12,300 when loaded. 9,700 with the drop down.
Might check your tire pressures. And possibly new shocks.
My first truck was a 2000 FL. It sucked. The 12 and 16 rode much better. -
Is the ride height adjusted properly? That effects how it rides. I know how how you feel Lol the old CH im in with a million rides better than a crapcadia with 200k
