1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

A couple more answer for you: They do let you fuel very often at Pilots and TA's and even occasionally at Petros and Loves. Showers: well they still have showers at the terminals but they took away the towel service. You also will get a shower at a truck stop if you fuel at least 50 gallons and have a "frequent fueler" card from that establishment. Obviously it is a very good idea to have a Pilot, TA, Loves and Petro Cards. For some reason Swift drivers do not fuel at Flying J's. NO matter. Pilot is swallowing them up anyway I believe.

Flying J did not use ComData for a long time. There was a different card that had to be used, and they did not give as good of a discount. Many carriers do not use them for this reason.
I will never understand driver mill company's though.
Having a truck sitting doing nothing is costing them a fortune. None of there trucks are paid for, they have payments every month for all of them. As soon as they are paid off in 4 years they trade them in. If it was not just leased from the manufacturer in the first place, which is what many company's do when they have a 3-4 year rotation.
I have to say, there are better training company's out there.
Heck Jerry even owns a better one.

A lot of the times when a truck sits it's the drivers fault... rejecting loads, lipping off to their DM or planers, going MIA for two or three days, wont drive more than 400 miles on any given day, 200 if they happen across a casino, so on and so forth. I have a couple of friends that are DM's and from the stories that they have told me about some of their drivers all I can say is that there is no way I could do that job. I would be firing drivers left and right or what they call "starving him out". That's where a driver needs to go but hasn't done anything bad enough to be fired. So his DM cuts his miles back until he quites or dose something stupid like make a threat over the phone.

But that may change after the Pilot buy out is finished.

Yeah the DM or the terminal manager can do all wrong to the driver but "god forbid" the driver fights back with the DM or terminal manager they want his head on a STICK to roast it.
Swift is doing so many drivers wrong, they did me and the better half wrong in 2007, we live in NY, were at the Phoenix HQ, they got rid of us that weekend, we had to beg for a bus ticket back to NY,,, lost majority of our belongings, people that have been wronged by SWIFT should find the right attorney and band togeather to bring a major class action suite againt them,,, oh I forgot JERRY MOYER has all the Arizona Politicians in his #### back pockets so I'm sure that will go nowheres anytime soon. I'd be dead before the action ever seen a courtroom. Been a driver for 1o yrs now and it took 6 months for them to ruin me. always complied with every rule or regulation both with DOT and whatever outfit I was with. but with SWIFT if you did not do it THEIR WAY....... you were in there BLACK BOOK to be royally FLUSHED if you know what I mean............even the new DOT head RAY LAHOOD dont give a ####...so take it for what it is if you plan to go to swift......and the #### drivers that defend him or the company........the tip of your nose has to be brown......this has to got be the worst outfit in trucking.......Knight Transportation not to far behind beings that owner was a partner of JERRY MOYERS before he started Knight. they are just looking for seat cover to drive the truck to get paid for the freight delivered....the DRIVER is COLLETERAL DAMAGE to them,,,, so what if your career is ruined after words..... the seasoned driver with them ,,, its only a matter of time until SWIFT ......FLUSHES them as well,,, then lets see how much they brown nose the company.......peace out...
