I’m rebuilding my engine right now (cat C15). Does anyone know how to break in an engine without a loaded trailer ? I dropped my trailer at the yard and it’s over 100 miles away........

The best way is with a real load. I believe CAT will break in on the Dyno, but at what cost ?......when you can do it yourself. I wouldn't worry about the 100 miles. Get a heavy load and work it.

Don’t worry about it too much . Remember when these things were new someone drove them from the factory to dealership bobtail or piggyback .

Thanks for the input. No dyno anywhere near me. I can break it in once I get my trailer, just gotta bobtail to get the trailer and hopefully that doesn’t hurt it any.

Sound like you have no choice. Just don't let it idle, and change speeds.
joey8686 and spsauerland Thank this. -
Drive it like you stole it!
