It’s that time of year again. I just picked up a new set. Anyone ever use a 4x4 block to lift the inner dual tire to simplify the process? I’ve seen those chain em up products but I’ll never spend $100 on it. Was thinking of cutting a 4x4 into a 2’ block then maybe cutting an angle on one side to make a ramp.

Y'all better off throwing 3 railers, IMO. Power out on a hill it's hell to get going again. From my experience.

Why make an extra two trips in and out of the cab? Blocks of wood.....pfffft!!!!!! Just learn to do it the efficient way, you don't need blocks of wood....

Seems like they must stay on better than the singles do too. I've never see anybody put bungies on triples.Shawn2130 Thanks this.

You can throw 3 railers off. Sometimes they get twisted up underneath. So I use 2 bungies on them. Get stuck in a mud hole then spin the chains on at 0500 hrs in the woods. Follow me for more adventures in trucking.Caterpillar Cowboy and AModelCat Thank this.

No thanks, I'll be right here in the office, my feet up on the desk, a hot cup of coffee at hand. I still have to chain up every once in awhile but at 74 I'm not looking for any new adventures.
Last winter we had a guy chain up five times between Redding and Arcata. He said his knuckles were dragging the ground by the time he got through. -
No one ever taught me to chain...
tscottme Thanks this. -
Yup, I can still do a good day's work. It just takes me three days to do it.
LOL...My sons and I just got done getting in all the firewood for four families. I put myself in charge of running the splitter....just the valve handle, the grandkids do the grunt work.
