Ok thanks 666, I’m getting the temp tag from the dealership in Ohio to get me home to Pa. I will get physical damage and liability insurance it looks like.
Thanks

Oh, you're getting it from a dealer? That makes things much easier for you. Is your insurance company going to let you put it on your non-commercial policy?Pittstruck Thanks this.

I use nationwide at home for insurance, I never thought about checking with them. I was going to go through ooida, but I guess I should check with the agent i already have.
-
OOIDA is commercial insurance. You won't be able to get commercial insurance without an active authority or a current lease with a motor carrier. You'll have to tell your non-commercial provider you're using the truck for non-commercial purposes such as pulling a trailer for your hobby.Pittstruck Thanks this.

Ok , and then once I’m leased on I’d call and cancel it guess, because I’d now be under the carriers umbrella?
-
Exactly. Commercial use means commercial insurance and a motor carrier who's responsible for the insurance policy.Pittstruck Thanks this.
-
Might be cheaper to just have it delivered to you.

How much you think that would cost... in the same boat.. need to get a truck from mo to TX. How much ya think that would be.Pittstruck Thanks this.
