Cost of Great Dane Legend dry van with lift axle?

A friend of mine just bought a Stoughton last week. He was going to get another Great Dane. I suggested the Stoughton. Showed him my old Great Dane. All the pits in side rails. Broken rivets. His Great Dane is newer, but already is showing the same problems. Moisture, salt gets trapped and corroded from the inside of rails. He got a good deal from Pace Trailer in Grand Rapids.

 

It saves tires, breaks and tolls when empty or if your load is light enough that you don't need the axle down. Some lift axles are automatic and go down when there is enough weight on the trailer.

He likes it real well, except he is worried about a small amount of bowing towards the back. He was going to have them replace panels and roof. I told him it’s no big deal. Don’t let them touch it. They pretty much all do that eventually anyways. It’s a very tiny amount. I think it’s normal, but he’s freaked out about it. They negotiated some extra warranty. I take notice of trailers, especially while loading. I’ve compared my Great Dane to Stoughton. Stoughtons bulk head construction, the ICC bumper set up, are real good.Along with a bigger side rails. Look for yourself, you’ll see. The only thing I don’t like is 4 hinges instead of 5 on doors. The Utility Dealer by me sells Stoughtons. Due to the Automotive Industry. Utility doesn’t make a composite dry van. Automotive has to have good inside widths. Mostly Wabash and Stoughtons. They take a beating. 2 of My other neighbors have/pull Stoughtons. They’re pretty happy with them. Look at them for yourself. Don’t take my word. I think a Stoughton with tire air system, and a low tire warning light, loaded can be had for $32k vs Wabash for $34-$36 k. That’s what I’ve been seeing anyways.

 

Holly crap dry vans are cheap. Ive never ran them or ever thought of running them so never looked at prices.

 

If your talking about the Jim Hawk Great Dane Legend series Van thats available at the Jim Hawk dealers, I was emailed back $55,600 for that model of dry van.

They have the lift axle, 9 light package, stainless front and rear and all aluminum wheels. The sides are the timpte style ribbed look so its a classic look.

Super nice and sharp trailers but was hoping about $40-42,000, but salesman wanted to say they are almost sold out so they must be popular
