I've been griping about it all week, but I was supposed to be scheduled for orientation. They gave me the "Everything looks good" spiel. My recruiter said they were booked solid for orientation and to call the following month. When I call to ask about getting a slot, they told me their safety policy changed and wanted information about my accidents I had while at Con-way Truckload, which for some reason Con-way won't release. So now Swift told me I'm screwed. -
Geeze, I can't believe a trucking company would do that. WAIT, oh YES I can !! Good Luck.. Most likely you're screwed !!!! Insurance company don't often bend their rules. Best of luck !!!!!!!!

UPDATE:
I spoke with Tanielle (recruiting manager) at the Memphis location just about an hour ago or so. I had left her a message on her voice mail explaining the situation. Right at about 5 minutes after I left the voice mail, I called back and got a hold of her on the phone, and explained who I was. She said she had received my voice mail and is right now in contact with someone about the situation. She'll be calling back here in just a bit to clue me in.
Sooo, here's to being optimistic about still going. If it doesn't work out today, I've got an app in with Prime & a direct number to the recruiter there. Wish me luck with Swift today! -

UPDATE:
So, I waited for Tanielle (Tawn-Yell.. I had trouble pronouncing it at first, lol) to call back after I spoke with her the first time in the afternoon, and I guess she must of been pretty busy, because I hadn't heard anything back from her for the rest of the day, despite leaving a couple of messages. I'll try early in the morning. I've learned that that's the best time to get in touch with anyone in the industry, lol.
I applied at Prime, and spoke to a recruiter named Cyndy. Everything seemed fine until she pulled my driving record. I told her before hand that I do have 2 speeding tickets on my record, 2 years apart, both over 15. The first comment out of her mouth upon pulling my MVR were these words: "You Need To SLOW DOWN, Sir!!". Hmm... Wow. Last I remembered, it wasn't anyone's job to really coach me on that, although that isn't something I do anymore. Every other carrier I had talked to had informed me that as long as there were no reckless counts on my record, that it would be fine, which, there aren't any. I've seen my record. And those other carriers also said no problem upon telling them about those tickets.
ANYWAY... Cyndy basically got a date for me anyway... Oct 26th... and let me know that once she heard back from the security dept regarding the tickets, that she would confirm whether I was on for sure or not. I did what I've done in the past and called up the security department myself to do a little interviewing. I've done this with every other truck load carrier I've been in contact with, just to be on firm grounds with the carrier, and never, ever had a problem out of them at all.
The woman I spoke to in Prime's security dept, Margaret, was, to say the least, not so helpful and was a bit rude about her answers. I was told basically that everything had to go through the recruiter, and how the screening process went within the security dept. It must of been 10 minutes after I had hung up with Margaret that Cyndy called my cell. The conversation went like this:
Cyndy Sounding very rude and a bit angry: "This is Cyndy with Prime. I was informed by Margaret of a couple of call backs from you earlier."
Me: "Well yes, I only called to check on the process"
Cyndy: "I'm knowledgable enough to answer any questions! With those tickets on there, reckless or not, I can't help you sir. Sorry."
And that was it. The end of my adventures with Prime. The whole 3 hours of it. Or something. Some of you may of had a better experience with the recruiters at Prime, but mine was not so good. as it stands, unless I hear back from Swift tomorrow, I'm looking at PAM, and possibly some other training companies. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Call Millis and speak with DeAnn.. She said this morning they are booked til the beginning of next year, but it may be a shot. From what I read and my personal experiences with Millis, they seem like an awesome company. Both DeAnn and Mike are top notch to talk to, they have answered any questions i have had with the utmost friendliness and promptness. I'm in no way a recruiter, I'm just very glad things ended up for me the way they did. Give them a call and see what they can tell you.. Good luck

After reading that I get the feeling that your kind of a pest on the phone.. that can work for or against you. Nine times out of ten it's against that's probably why you are finding them to be rude after your repeated call backs. Keep in mind their jobs extend way beyond just you. And while you may want an answer right now they do have other things that they are working on at the same time.
If you want to drive a truck the first thing your going to have to learn is more then a little patience. There is a time to do it and time not to and I would say that right now is the time to not do it. If you haven't heard from them by the following day then yes ONE call to a live person. Not three an hour and to other departments this will just make them angry and odds are your app will be placed in the circular filling cabinet. -
You called too much.... so what? Don't listen to that ####. This is your livelihood at stake here..... KEEP CALLING. Lemme tell you a little something my mother always said. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. In the trucking industry there is a variation. My buddy Aftershock (whom I miss....) will tell you sometimes in this industry the squeaky wheel gets replaced. You've got nothing to lose, in my opinion. Keep calling. What's the worst that can happen? You don't get hired? You're not hired now...... and the best thing is someone will consider your persistence a good quality and give you a chance. And lemme tell ya another thing. If you don't get hired by Swift, you're not missing out on too much.
