Why not? Lots of people try, some like it and some don't. If you have more background to give you might get answers more tailored to your circumstances but ultimately no telling without trying

 

I am 55. I went to school on a scholarship from the unemployment office. Its a govt program. You might want to check it out and see if you qualify.
My company does "drop and hook", so no heavy lifting or severe manual labor.
I am having a blast and I love my truck and my company.
I wanted to drive truck my whole life. Kids are finally grown. This is hubby and my retirement! Paid tourist, traveling the country.

 

Paid tourist, right. My left door stays shut and I see freeways. No touch freight, a lot of drop and hooks. Just bought my second truck and I'm 62.

 

I still see sunsets, sunrises, beautiful vista's, and great cities. I see the country changing seasons. I see ppl doing their things. And I make lists of where to take hometime. Yep... paid tourist.
