Hey guys. Thanks for great info. Yesterday I had some time to check out things. I cut black wire going to air valve, ran wire to to dash switch. Then ran wire back to valve from switch and hooked up to other end of cut wire. Worked PERFECT. Switch actually just breaks ground circuit and fan comes on. Fan works normal when circuit is closed.
Thanks
Wiljon

I Have an intl 8600 w/ c12 cat and no override switch. Would the procedure be the same to add override switch?
Thanks for any info. -
Yes. Do it just like wiljon put the switch in the dash and run 2 wires out to the fan swith cut the ground wire and attach them to the wires you run out from the dash. That way is better than cutting the power wire as you dont have to worrie about the wire shorting out if it rubs through.
HELPFUL HINT for any wireing work you are doing. Here is a easy way to seal regular butt connectors. Get a tube of rtv silicon any kind color will work. Fill the connector till it comes out the other side and then put your wires in and crimp. The silicon will cure and make a water tight connection. HINT number 2 if your tube if silicon is partly dried up just poke a new hole in it somwhere its soft and squeeze it out there. -
Thanks for reply and info. Will put switch in this afternoon. Thanks for the info, the dealer makes such a big deal out of this with relays and fuses. and seperate circuits. You guys rule quick and to the point. THANKS!!!!!

98 Volvo, Cummins M11. Found these two wiring harnesses behind the instrument cluster. I know the big plug goes to a switch, where does the little two wire plug go. They are both labeled "Manual Fan Control".
