Truck driver gossip? Mine was deposited Friday, along with my mileage bonus. With as much equipment being destroyed, the company can’t really be laying out too much in bonuses. Except of course to the ones not tearing stuff up.

I figured it was just scuttlebutt. Maybe that person was one of those that was tearing up the equipment.

We are finally back to work. Enjoyed our 5 week vacation between jobs. Walked away from the new job before we started it. Truck was a POS.

Made 2 phone calls and found another Fed Ex job. This one pays .72 / mi. With benefits, and a small safety bonus. Got a decent truck, 18 Freightshaker with 325k on the clock. It drives well, and has a fridge, inverter, microwave, and GPS included. This company has 24 trucks, and 2 owners. Our boss is an owner, seems great, but we have only been here for a week...

Best part is, our home terminal is our home town. And we get to bobtail to our house for home time.

Parking sure is easy now, just park in front of the no parking signs by the curb!

So far, today has been so fun. Not. Had loaded trl brakes that refused to budge at a customer. Luckily, it was close enough the trl shop came out to fix. Now have loaded trl that is missing mud flap and has no paperwork and was supposed to be delivered Saturday. What is wrong with people?

My PM turned into all day affair as mechanic kept finding stuff wrong to fix Id never notice on a pretrip. Get truck back and go to walmart for some food and mechanic calls me and tells me he forgot to put a seal in after fixing a blown wheel seal on one of my drive axles. Explains why there was hub oil all over the wheel after wheel seal was supposedly fixed, lol! Mechanic got his ### chewed out by big boss I guess for forgetting that seal. Now gotta wait for body shop to open in the morning to fix my hood hinge that keeps sticking shut. DM told me to put in for breakdown pay. Fun day today....

Can I just say, it just amazes me how some people have a job in dispatch. I’ve been sitting here on the yard for 1.5 hours waiting for my dm to figure out what I’m doing to get home today. I have 2.5 hours left on my 14. And if I have to take a trl home, it’ll take me at least an hour and 45 minutes to get there, providing traffic cooperates. I’m flummoxed. It is like monkeys trying to f footballs. Yeah, I know I get paid by the hour, but dang it, I’ve been up since 3:30 am & I’d like to go the hello home.
    Rant over - for now.
