I've been off the road and away from a commercial vehicle since June 26,2008. one because I was fired twice in 6 mos., two because I had to be home with my teenage daughter. Now that all the companies are claiming "If you've been out or away from a commercial vehicle for more than six months, even with 9yrs OTR experience I still can't get back to work as a Licensed CDL driver. how can i get a complete DAC report? and who will even give me a chance. most of my experience and preference is in the Flatbed and Ov ersize division of the trucking industry. My daughter and I are looking for a company that will either let her run with me full time, until she gets her GED and starts with the military, or find a company that has a lease purchase program that isn't as boguss as C.R. England or TRUX MAX. please email me and let me know? due to the fact i have limited access to computer i can only check my email 3times a week. so please be patient with me. s
    sincerely, Amanda Blaser

I dont think the military takes GED's any more. Plenty of college grads in the enlisted ranks these days.

the army is definitely NOT taking anybody with a GED. no waivers for it, either. they're only taking people with high school diplomas or better.

Just be persistent. If you search for some threads I started, you will see my adventures in trying to find a job after being off the road for a time.

Look at the smaller companies, that is who I just got hired on with.

I made a list of some of them. But since you have experience in the last 3 years you should be Ok as far as experience goes.

    Good luck, Larz

It doesn't sound like your focus is on trucking. It sounds like trucking is just a job to pay the bills and your real focus is your daughter with her problems. I don't think a company wants an employee running around the Country with a problem child tagging along. It only means held up freight and problems galore. That's just my opinion. Good luck......

Hey I feel for you in the situation your in. I'm a construction driver trying to jump onboard the road gang and it's like being a foriegner.I found a few that I could qualify for to submit an app. to. Arrow was one Heartland was another but I hear they're a scary outfit. Also I don't remember if they operate that far south, give it a shot. As far as your Dac the website to see is HireRight your allowed 1 free copy a year, just like your credit report. So wish you luck in your search honey, this site is the place to chase from what I've found.:yes2557:
