Hello Folks
some of the online travel maps tell me Dallas I-30 to Little Rock then I-40 and I-71 rest of the way is the best route, but I see some construction on that route.
I prefer interstates and have no issue using Toll Roads.
Any recent road reports for those roads?
Any suggestions for a better route? I don't mind driving 30 minutes longer if I can avoid construction and idiot drivers.
Trip will be in January 2021, so maybe some snow/ice to be aware of.
Thank you
Best Route: Dallas to Cincinatti, OH

My only suggestion is to make sure you take I-65 north out of Nashville. I-71 doesn't connect with 40, so don't miss the turn to get there.kylefitzy Thanks this.

I-30 to Little Rock, I-40 to Nashville, TN, I-65 to Louisville, KY, Then I-71 to Cincinnati.
That is the best route. Any other route will be more of the same, only longer.
Whether there is road construction is mute the further north you get. Most will be done by winter. Snow or ice can't be forecast more than a week ahead of time, so unless you have a crystal ball to see into the future, that is not a consideration.
And currently, there is a wreck on I-30 eastbound TX MM94, but hopefully it will be cleared by the time you start your trip!!!!!!!Just passing by and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
If you don't what to deal with idiot
Then
Dallas to Walnut Ridge ,AR
I-30 then US67
You might see some idiots to on I30 but after Little Rock it will be boring and peaceful and 65+ miles road with 0 traffic light
From Walnut Ridge to Hayti, Mo
Via 412, its decent 4 way road, yes it will be traffic light here and there but nothing major or annoying. (Expect about 30 mile scratch 2 way road from Cadwell, but its 50+ mph anyway)
From Haiti Mo, to Louisville, KY via i -69
barely any traffic , 0 lights, 65 mph speed limit , again boring as ****
After that is pretty much I-71 to Columbus, cause alternative roads way out ...
Or yeah recently some idiot managed to damage bridge in Cincinnati, so be prepared for some traffic, but beside that everything will be fine.
Entire road looks like this, I drove it multiple times, and trust me its WAY BETTER then to deal with ####### along I40 from Little Rock to Nashville cause they bloodyeverywhere....

Really great info, thank you sir

For some reason I thought you going to Columbus, so you can withdraw
2 hours from total drive time -
Yeah the Brent Spence bridge is closed till December 23rd last I heard. That carries 71 and 75 over the Ohio river. Will have to take 275 either east or west from 71/75 north to get to Cincinnati depending on where you need to be if they extend the date, big fire lots of damage so the Dec 23rd date may move depending on what they get into as repairs are made

Don't forget to have the CB on though West Memphis so you can ask the guy selling "good green" and "good white" if he is selling burritos.
Nothing beats a burrito smothered with the good green sauce (chili verde) when you're hungry...
Everyone needs to start asking when they go through.Brettj3876 Thanks this. -

I already showed the guy how to bypass stupid crowded I-40 altogether
