2 weeks ago on Monday the 99 broke a valve bridge while we were both running down to the same spot in jersey. Dad threw the Jake on coming through the gap and BANG she let go w/o warning.
975 for the 100mi tow home and ~1300 for a head and some misc parts. Had it running again a week later. F'd my schedule up for the week but the broker was cool about moving loads around.
I have a vid but it wont let me embed itDino soar, Midwest Trucker, Dale thompson and 2 others Thank this. -
For those who took the PPP loan, I did the online forgiveness application this morning via a link that my bank sent me. It's form 3508S. Very simple to do.

Those that bought trucks this fall to get in on the spot market rates when in February they figure out that they have created yet another truck glut.

I made a big principal payment on my truck balance yesterday. Down to 15k balance now.
I'll pay off the balance at years end and will have title to both truck and trailer.
Someone once told me that's when you really start making money as an owner operator? Especially with the kind of rates I've been seeing, LOL
At any rate, all my fixed costs for 2021 will be paid by December 31 of this year.
With positive cash-flow to boot going into 2021, that's a pretty good feeling

The other one, EIDL, I started getting statements already. They are not due yet but surely they won't let you forget it, which is good. I watch all my transactions and scrupulously mark all those that qualify against it...I am ready to return it at any time but I feel good having this extra cushion and will consider to return it as a lump sum at some point...perhaps after this Covid 19 is gone.
Everybody else should not hope for that one be forgiven either. Especially, after I return it...Dale thompson and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
I am a few payments away from getting the title on my trailer too. I think as soon as it is paid for, I'll trade it in for another brand new. I can't stress enough how stress less it is to pull a brand new trailer. They do go into a rapid deterioration process after 5-6 years.

Other than tires and lube, the only thing that I had to fix on this one so far were two brake chamber halves.Midwest Trucker, Dale thompson and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
I received an email from a subcontractor working with the SBA last week. She was asking for documentation of how the EIDL money had been spent to date. When I told her that I sent the 85k back 2 days after I got it, she was pleasantly surprised. She followed up with another email confirming it had indeed been paid in full and the file was closed.
TallJoe Thanks this.
