Back in the early 90's I was out truckin on I 20 in the wee hrs of the morning somewhere between Pecos and the i20/i10 split, I was beat tired, but as I was driving I was having to push harder and harder on the gas pedal to maintain speed, I was lightly loaded and didn't seem to have any wind to speak of, What made it even weirder was as I looked over to the side of the road, it "looked" like I was going downhill? Truck was running fine and all gauges were good, so I pulled over just to feel my hubs to see if I had a brake or hub seizing up, nothing, so as I'm standing there I decide to take a whiz, I'm pointing the the same direction as the truck, and my stream goes abruptly towards the front of the truck, I was indeed driving down hill, but yet it was as if something was holding me back. Never did figure it out?
Creepiest routes? Scary sights?

sounds like that sleep deprivation, will make your brain do some laps. Headed to Lubbock on 82 always has me feeling like I’m on the moon or driving up a really steep hill at night tired. Get so tired sometimes forget to check the blinker fluid post trip650cat425, singlescrewshaker, Jenn72 and 1 other person Thank this.

The absolute creepiest thing I have experienced years and years ago was at a rest area at night in West Texas... when you went in to take a leak there are 3 notes on the urinal saying flash your lights for some fun... hells to the naw, naw. naw!

Pee-wee : Some night, huh?
Large Marge : On this very night, ten years ago, along this same stretch of road in a dense fog just like this. I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building...
[cut to a few minutes later]
Large Marge : And when they finally pulled the driver's body from the twisted, burning wreck. It looked like this...!
[Turns to Pee-wee and makes grotesque face]
Pee-wee : Aaaaaahh!
Large Marge : Yes, Sir! The worst accident I ever seen.
- Pee-wee : Have a nice day.
Large Marge : Be sure and tell 'em Large Marge sent ya! Heh heh heh heh heh!

I was running US 287 northward in Texas north of Amarillo. It was 2 or 3 in the morning. A pickup was tailing me but in the left lane going slow behind my truck. Then it went by and stopped up the road, got behind me and did it again. Then a third time something similar by getting behind me again. Finally rolled into Dumas and it turned. I was thinking it was wanting to hijack me or something. Very strange behavior from that vehicle.

Be careful with the "blinker fluid" joke. I remember the days when we were saying "exhaust fluid" as a joke.
