CHP requires only a high school diploma or a GED.
That being said, a young guy from the tribal police just finished the CHP academy and he told me that almost everybody in his class had at least an AA degree. A couple of the applicants had just high school but they had prior experience.Tug Toy Thanks this. -
Most of the guys I know that go into L.E. at least get a Associates in C.J. or similar program. Lots of young guys that apply need to burn up the time from 18 to 21 y.o. to join so they might was well go to school. That said, police officers will probably be in high demand in the near future and I'm willing to bet that minimum standards won't increase any time soon.Tug Toy, Dave_in_AZ and Lonesome Thank this.
