love reading the messages from guys who are starting their own business.. I’ve been in the LTL field the last six years, I’m so sick of these new breed of micro managers. I’m wanting so bad to start my own OO business. I tried leasing last summer after one of those hero managers terminated me last January.. some weeks were ok however most were horrible, not because I didn’t hustle nonetheless, because the Driver Manager would leave me sitting without a preplan.. ended up making the money to run the truck each week but nothing to send home. Hopefully I can figure out a way to purchase a truck because this LTL crap is getting worse every month.

Just an update. I was able to make to Chicago from Idaho with no problem. Took 80 the majority of the way. I did purchase bobtail insurance prior to picking up the truck and carried those papers just in case I got pulled over. I also had temporary dealer plates that I stuck in the window (was just a piece of paper). Made it, got signed on to a company and now hauling. Thanks!

It's not that hard if you have the verified experience. All you need is 20% for the down payment if its your first truck. You'll need a business entity with a business account but that costs less than 100. Find a company that has a fuel card and lets you rent a trailer from them. They'll even dispatch you for a fee but everything is a write off when you're in business. Find a good accountant, ATBS.com and watch out for the snakes. Make sure you find a good mechanic that isn't going to #### you over. Get everything checked out as soon as you get your first check. Replace the ####ty recaps with new tires as well. It's expensive but worth it. Good luck!

ATBS is a snake you should look out for,
I speak from first hand experience, I still get emails from them and they were giving me winter driving tips, I thought they were book keepers.cvltmxnd Thanks this. -
You are right!! I forgot to mention that one little minor detail. lol. Thanks for posting that.

Well look where ATBS got their start. They probably try to sell turbo 3000's with every subscription. Lol
