There is lots of legitimate reasons to enter into a 1099 type work. It can be advantageous to both parties. Now most trucking jobs it’s a scam. I’m currently working a 1099 gig with a signed contract that spells out my duties and specifies my compensation and waaaiit for it there is an end date. IMHO full time without an end date should be a W2 only. I think there should be more constructive discussion on the matter blanket statements usually have too many holes. Now if you’re saying Eastern European owners that pay 1099 are a scam that blanket will keep you warm in a strong wind.

This sounds like a lease or percentage deal . If I was a employee I know what I’d being doing with or too my 50% of the tires.

A 1099 driver is supposed to pay just as .uch as anyone. They are telling you they don't pay as much in taxes but the majority aren't paying taxes at all. Gotta clear that air here. A lot of them are majorly in the hole to IRS. Some of them haven't filed in years. Those drivers like having all the cash flow in their pockets. Like I said in the past, those companies are supposed to be temporary solutions. Not careers.

This one is tough. I've done the 1099 twice. Both times when I left, I had to leave money on the table. Bro, if you can find somewhere to work, just do that. I'd cut my losses. It's your word versus theirs anyway.
