It's harvest time and you are in the South, what else would you expect?

If I was you I'd call around to everywhere and offer to haul for $1.40 (or whatever you want) instead of sitting around staring at the loadboards. Loadboards are mostly for backhaul to pay for fuel, thats how I look at it.

Been a long time since I had that problem.......going on 23 years now.

But my memory hasn't gone with old age........just yet:biggrin_25522:

Dino reminded me of my first ex-wife......when she got mad......she talked just like he typed. 90 mph and thoughts all run together.

Looks like I'm sitting the week out. I'm not pulling cotton at those rates. Next respectable load I can do is to Dublin GA for $2 a mile but it doesn't deliver until Monday. No point picking it up until Sunday night late. Pretty sure we can get some good stuff out of GA and head west.

Careful with that word backhaul, some get it into their head that everything should be treated & priced as a backhaul. :biggrin_25513:

this weeks flipping feasco!!!!! well as you all know was in tamps last weekend, i didnt get a load till wesday, from palm harbor to cross city fla which is on us 19 it was 172 miles in dh, then i haul butt to empoira va ,i unloaded in the early am, buy 10 am the gave me another load this time to the bottom of nc 210 mile dh for a $700 heavy cheap load of lumber going to rossville ga ,which is buy chatanooga ten, while in rout they call and i drop this load to run back 120 mile to marrian ga to pic up coils going to shelbyville,in this is cool but iv had 8 hours sleep in three daysbut the load i picked up for indiana had to be here today on sat befor noon ,so needless to say 10 hr breaks have been out of the question just to make a few bucks, each run iv barely had enough fuel to get there,so once again i put 200 bucks in the tank cause its cold as hell here to run the heater!!!!!!! i had to open all the water valves to get the heater going, so while i was unloading tire as hell ,the broker calls and says hey iv got a hot killer load for yah but its 140 miles south of you(car frames) going somewhere in michigan lol ,but pays $3,25 mile but i was already out of hours after driveing here today and the load delivers tommor????on a sunday????but just for ####skis and giggles i call the broker in michagain and he aint got squat for loads in tree weeks ,and wonder why the laod payed 3.25 a mile lolwould have been stuck there for a couple of days,,,what game players ,,and fridays d-day dump the trailer and haul ### back down south where it warm lol,,,,you got to be part eskimo to live here lol the dino

You should've told him 3.25 is the weekday rate, you want the weekend rate! I'm guessing the load was out a E-Town to Woodburn?

I must be part eskimo, I haven't slept with the truck on yet.
