He lives in the desert... dust is just a fact of life out there.

Why do you sound jealous of Wolfman CB? How would you know if anybody is overmodulating unless you hear their particular radio. Such claims are to be ignored...they hold no substance. I have heard DRail many times and he always sounds top shelf. So take your crying towel into the corner for a good sob as you have nothing in which to substantiate your claims. Silence serves you best. Highlander

Oh give it up there Swifty....you're going to find something wrong with something no matter what. You need to remember that this shop has many very satisfied customers....In every business a mistake can be made....why is the ratio of good vs. bad so extremely comprised of good reports and it appears that anything that is problematic is resolved by the shop. Quit being so hateful and condescending. Highlander

Had a wolfmans tune on my 1st 955..Wasnt anything special....Ended up finding ft..I was much happier....
Im not gonna bash or glorify one or the other any real amount but i have listened to both tecs up here in eastern canada and both came in strong and clear but one was pushin alot more power than the other and scattered... -
Well in this business, there should be no mistakes.

Well.... It's actually very easy. It's called an oscilloscope. If you look at the thumbnail picture in the previous posts. See the flatlines between the round amplitude modulation signal on the oscilloscope? That is what a splatter box radio looks like. That radio is putting out way over 100% modulation. If a technician doesn't have an oscilloscope on their bench, or if they do not know how to use it (yes its true), then don't let them touch your radio.Last edited: Oct 15, 2023
craig_sez Thanks this. -
If your a trained operator of any type of machine be it a car, jet, rocket there should be no mistakes their either ...BUT there are..
Perfection is desired but impossible all the time.. -
I do agree with you but in this case, there isn't a second-place winner, we are talking about properly aligning and repairing CB radios, these are all functionally the same thing, many of these exports as you know are slightly different with some of the new ones are essentially SDRs at the core of the radio.
Returning to my comment, his point is there must be a tolerance for poor performance in a business that can't have it. -
Then to that i say the training for said equiment leaves a lil to be desired..
