And contact germs we do! Nothing like a good old truck stop to keep the immune system working as it should. I think even hand sanitizer would run from some of the places I visit in the morning.

Somehow humans made it thousands of years or more without hand sanitizer.

Yes, hand sanitizer can't distinguish between good and bad bacteria and kills them all. Luckily we all have an ample supply of good bacteria living in our gut, hopefully a long way from any hand sanitizer.

 

Whow!.. I will be honest after reading the thread I was laughing out a lot whiles waiting for a pick up here and found it difficult to believe that anyone could be that nasty. But I did remember someone taking a dump between 2 trailers at a company 6 months ago (probably because due to the Pandemic the company wouldn't let them use the washroom so they went outside).

For Real that Trainer is super nasty. It makes me glad that here in Canada we obtain our Cdl through Trucking Schools because there is No Way I'd put up with any of that because it's not even human. Training or No training it's not worth that kind of mentality torture.

 

The FDA banned a number of cheaply made hand sanitizers, not because of the good or bad bacteria that it kills, but because they contained methanol alcohol which can make people sick or even kill them when absorbed through the skin. When the stuff became extremely popular at the beginning of the pandemic, companies started making it that didn't really know what they were doing. Distilling alcohol is fairly easy, but the person doing it must know at what point the mixture changes from methanol to ethanol. In some third world countries like India, you will occasionally hear of hundreds dying from drinking home made booze and winding up dead because it contains methanol.

Using hand sanitizer is no better or worse than washing your hands with soap and water. If people want to use the stuff, let them have at it. If you feel that killing bacteria is bad, try licking a few drains in a truck stop men's bathroom. You'll get all of the bacteria you want.

 

One time, for revenge, I bought a couple large bottles of cheap women's cologne at Walmart, then soaked the drivers seat and dumped most of it in the AC ducts.
