well, after nearly 30 yrs, had the opportunity last month actually drive a Super 10, and again this week. It been an ‘experience’, to say the least.
Question, when shifting from 5/6 up to 7/8, there is a horrible clash, not matter what I try, floating, double clutch, single clutch, nothing helps. Could it be a worn synchronizer? Truck has over 800,000 on it w/ every Tom, Dick, and Harry’s cousin over the decades beating this company truck. How durable, and well liked were these transmissions?

I used to drive an old international with a super 10 that did the exact same thing. My boss told me that the synchronizer was worn....but he still didn’t fix it lol.

Super 10, the most useless transmission ever made lol.
Rubber duck kw and T.Rucker Thank this. -
Yes probably a sync. What about 9/10? Going up should be very easy.
There is a you tube by Eaton on how to shift them.
Seem to be plenty tough but I do not care to drive them. -
I don’t know if I’d go that far. I would take a worn out Super 10, over an auto-shift/automatic any day of the week. But, that’s me.Smellfunny, Rubber duck kw, BoxCarKidd and 2 others Thank this.

It was nice in the hills from 7 to 10...
Wouldn't want on for city driving. -
I jumped between a super 10 and regular 10. Muscle memory is a strange thing. Half the time if you asked me what one I was driving I'd have to look. I would just get in and drive.
lester Thanks this. -

Nope...boss never fixed it while I was there. Only had to drive it for a couple weeks and he put me in another truck.30 Minutes Thanks this.

I drove a Super 10 for 4 years. I liked that transmission. Good on the hills for downshifting but hard to get up to speed in the last couple gears due to the larger jumps in rpms required.
Been driving 18’s since since the truck with the Super 10 has been put out to pasture.
