2020 for most owner ops has been a good year. Like @Oscar the KW mentioned on another thread, "it's like fishing with dynamite."
I'm bearish on freight rates going into and through 2021. I'm optimistic on the industry in toto, however, not on what we've seen happen in the spot market these past several months.
In my opinion, anyone who jumped into this gig recently based on that, and indebted/leveraged themselves, are in for a rude awakening me thinks.
What's new? Nothing. It's rinse and repeat...
I'm glad I decided to put a hold on buying new equipment at this point and wait it out. Not having the pressure of having to get out and run to meet ends meet (even modestly) is pretty nice too be honest.

Well, my lane(s) went from some good surfing to dregs in a matter of 2 days LOL. The warehouses must be stocked full on the west coast and ready for Christmas. Perhaps a lot of the truckers that don't like running in the bad weather, re-positioned themselves, who knows for sure.
I could see it it coming last week...
Which underscores how happy I am that I paid forward for 2021 and saved a lot of the dough I've met these past several mos. going into winter.
Time for some hot chocolate & marshmallows by the fireplace!
