Seems like a lot of todays drivers could use a backup camera.

The truck was pulling out of the spot beside me. Got out looked at damaged and left.

I was in sleeper getting dressed. Didn't have time to catch him.

Its funny you say Love's, I seen the same thing happen at one on I-81 NC. The driver came out of the fuel aisle taking out the front passenger side of a truck and kept on going without noticing what happened.

    So what happens now?
Is this a chargeable incident or how is it handled with Roehl?
...I can't believe someone would just leave...no wait, what am I thinking?!

Who would take the time to help out another trucker and take responsibility
    for a mistake?

Unfortunately, this type of thing happens more and more, these days.

Hubby and I, along with about 10 other folks, witnessed a "hit/run" in the lot of a TA last year. This dude was snatching gears from a PARKING spot, SLAMMED into a dude, knocked his rig into an almost parallel parking position, backed up and hauled butt!
Police were called, and when they got there, the "officer" was TOTALLY disrespectful, and uninterested in taking any witness accounts. hubby and I basically MADE him take our names, numbers, and write down what we saw happen. BECAUSE it happened on "private property"...WTF is that crappola??

The dude who got hit was PARKED, and asleep in his bunk...TOTALLED his rig, and the cop didn't want to make an accident report?? WHATEVER!!!
Victims insurance company finally contacted us...9 MONTHS AFTER the hit/run....took them that long to get the copy of the report from the officer....:biggrin_25510:

These types of things are the reason WHY these "steering wheel holders", get away with this crappola!!

I wish upon them double the damage to THEIR rides, and it gets them fired, cuz no one saw nuthin'. couldn't get the name of the company. Cops don't want to do their jobs because the damage was done on private property, and they will have to fill out a report!!!

kebo, sorry about your dilemma...wish you the best in getting the arsehole who did that to your ride.

If he was legally parked and on line 1 or 2 of his logbook...there is NO WAY it could be ruled the drivers (kebo072) fault.

We are not responsible for what happens when we are off duty..provided we did nothing to bring on the incident.

If he had been in Visalia or Tulare, every cop for 100 miles would have been looking for the other truck.... especially TCSO... they just have this thing about hunting down hit and run drivers... have seen it happen.
