I put new steers on it and the drives have over 100,000 on them but wearing perfect it seams to be riding worse and worse today it felt like I dumped the suspension air and drove up a creek bed lol if u were to hold a paint stick down with your hand and the other half over the edge of table a flick it that’s what the front end feels like when going over a bump smooth road it’s smooth as silk it’s like the front axle is going nuts or something comes right up through the floor but literally nothing is bad?

Motor mounts ever been changed?
-
No they are original this is about the only thing I haven’t done gonna change them this weekend Peterbilt told me this wouldnt cause what I’m experiencing they said usually just get vibrations. Would I get a bad bounce from this?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
For sure, every bump, the engine, trans jumps. I changed my 2000 Freightliners 5-6 yrs ago. They were real bad. On a hill, in low, shifter would move, as engine torque caused it to jump up. I used ATRO polyurethane. Replaced them all again last year. They were wore out. I went back with originals. The polys being harder, have a lot of vibration complaints. From my experience they don’t last any longer either. I guarantee you need new ones. Might just be the problem, maybe aggravated by an old Balancing damper. Just guessing, on the damper. The shaking on the cab Definately sound like motor mounts.

I would also make sure the ride heights not set too high.Since it’s much worse bobtailing. Being a new valve, it’s probably holding the adjustment, but I’ve had to re set mine before, after setting it. Make sure you have the proper specs and set it bobtail, double check it after a test drive. Then again hooked to a load.

5UG and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Some Trucks have a transmission mount, also on top of trans. Not sure about Pete’s. Just be sure to have the jack or hoist secure. I smashed my finger really bad, almost lost part of it. And I’m always preaching never trust a jack. Last time I did them, I took the oil pan off, braced it real good with blocks.
5UG, Roberts450 and 650cat425 Thank this. -
Did you ever figure this out? I have same issue with my 2015 Pete 389. Leveling valves, shocks etc all changed. Called a suspension guy he said replace the springs. It's only got 500k on it
