    Hello everyone,

Are there any benefits of drum brakes over disc brakes on the truck ?

I think all flatbed trailers all have disc brakes.

It all depends on how the equipment is specd, the discs have only really been relevant the last few years (except for the ####ty bendix stuff of the 80s) My personal opinion is that the different crack pressures of the drum/disc things can get a little funky with them mismatched, but I will say, disc all around definitely stop on a dime and bring back change

most dot don’t know anything about disc either

Drums hold up better in the rust belt states that use road salt.
Drums are some what enclosed to keep out the salt but disc brakes are fully open to the elements.

Disc brakes will fade. Its harder to get them to fade than drums but they will fade.

I haven't seen discs last worth a crap if you work in mud. Not unless you actually wash them out good and often.

I believe you have to actually remove the hub if you have to change the rotor.

Disc brakes are much better then drums in my opinion. They don't fade, I'm not sure how much heat they can take. They don't fade like drum brakes. You can probably overheat them and crack the disc. I like how no more slack adjuster to worry about not working. Disc brakes are upgrade on tractor and trailer when you order them from factory. They have better stoping power even when they heat up over drum.
