question about getting online packages

You must tell them to hold all mail and boxes till you get back to store.

 

The Amazon locker thing is all I can think of. But you'd have to know you'd be there at the time, good luck planning your wherabouts 3 days from now.

 

I can only speak for myself, but if I were still driving I would limit my Amazon etc purchases until I will be on hometime WITH a backup person that can take the package. I order a Pantry package about 3 times a month. Amazon here is good about delivering on time. Still, I think I would try to sync up these deliveries to my hometime.

 

I've had stuff sent to a terminal and I've had stuff sent to a truckstop in the past. I just called ahead and let them know when it was expected and when I was gonna come get it. That has always worked for me

 

I was just going to post the same info. Several months ago I ordered a mattress from Amazon. Had it delivered to my Home Terminal. I called to ask if I could have it delivered there. The answer was " Sure, our drivers do it all the time". I think a lot would depend on the size of the Company. For example, Swift, with + - 25,000 Drivers.....probably not. My Company is about 450 Drivers. Ask at the Terminal.

 

That works! Can't argue! Still, I advise caution. Example! Back in Oct, I ordered close to $2,000 worth of things from Amazon. Some of my items were shipped separately and were not re-packaged Amazon just placed shipping tags on the boxes. One such item was a Gigabyte Geforce Video card that with tax was a few bucks over $600 bucks. Amazon shipped it in the original box with the product clearly visible. Anybody that knows how valuable a computer video card is, well let's hope they are honest! I advise caution when having packages forwarded like this. I know a driver who does this as well. The guy he drives for locks the driver packages up in a secure place. Short of this, I would never have a valuable package delivered like that!

 

Seems like a good perk for companies to attract Drivers.
