i once had a full load of air mattresses in my trailer. it was so light, my trailer was off the ground.
DOT cop stopped me at the scale house, asked me what i had inside.
told him, "independent contractor supplies"
he said...."huh"?
i said , "yeah, air mattresses for self employed hookers" -

I've been doing open deck for about 6 years, give or take and I personally have never done the toy truck thing, but I was curious about it when I first started open deck. The answer I received was it was superstition. Its bad luck to run empty, so when d/h people would put a toy truck on the deck.
