... A little secret. The company schools will let you pay out of pocket up front. Generally cheaper than a private school, you don't incur the interest that accrues if you take the employment contract and you have no obligation to the company after completion of training.

did not know that, but it’s still subpar training imo.

I live in an extremely rural area, and work at Prime Inc. They just send me home bobtail & I park in my driveway.

Company driver btw.

My question is about where I live. I live in North Central PA in a very rural area. The only cities are an hour north, Corning, NY, or an hour south, Williamsmport, PA. I was looking at Wilson Logistics for CDL Training because of all of the recommendations on this website. Wilson says they hire in all 48 states but do you have to live near a metro area? I saw on one forum where Prime wouldn't hire someone because of where they lived and the inability to get them home. Is that something I should be prepared for? I know I could ask Wilson these questions but thought I would hold off on contacting any companies until I got the Med Card and CDLP so thought I would ask this question here.
