Sleep studies/cpap machine

Like the other guy said they would give you a 90 day card. That not a lot time to get sleep test and get machine and get 30 days in. Prime Inc for example was letting the drives on CPAP keep driving, because the got a sleep report from the CPAP every day. So as long as driver was using it every time they sleep.

Their is no law but they want to make sure a driver to is using it. So the sleep doctor pick 30 days to make sure it helping. A new driver von CPAP could keep driving if the doctor doing the physical is ok with it I guess. Would they take on that risk is only a guess or Maybe give 6 month card.

They say everyone has some sleep apnea or 4 or less times per hour is not a big deal. Someone has to stop breathing for 10 second to count as an Event or AHI. So if someone stop breathing 4 time no CPAP is need. It they stop breathing 5, 7 time that not much. If they stop breathing 15 or 30 or 50 time at 10 seconds each that's a lot. Maybe you can lose more weight.

 

That’s my issue. 90 days ain’t a long time. And they will drop your license cus of no medical card meanwhile your bills get behind. It’s insane.

 

A simple test is record yourself sleeping for 1 or 2 hours on phone something. Then listen in the morning and see if you hear yourself gasping for air. If it more then 5 times per hour. You probably have sleep apnea. 35+ times hour is severe sleep apnea. The official test is to see if someone actually stops breathing 10 second each time.

 

I’m new to a cpap and don’t know anything about how to hook it up on a semi do I use a 12 volt adapter or just plug it in on the inveter? We r a team so truck is always on the go can someone please help me? Plz and thank you.

I have a Phillips dream machine they just installed a new inverter yesterday and gave me a rested adapter for lighter

I've had problems with the 12v adapter so I stick to the inverter

You might want a CPAP backup battery. They are crazy expensive for what they are. The only reason you might want one is when the truck engine starts their might not be enough power to keep inverter going. So the CPAP cuts off every time for 2-3 seconds The CPAP backup battery works as uninterrupted power.

You might want the heated air hose. It can automatically adjust temperature so the air you breathing is the same temperature. I never like breathing cold dry air and the CPAP kinda makes air seem cold and dry. You want distilled water if you use humidifier

Rain Out is when you run the humidifier but the air hose is to cold and the water collects back in the cold air hose. You get this bubbling sound as the hose fills up with water. Plus no humidified air get to you.
