.75 cpm split is hella good.....especially if he can run y'all like a real team. I always wonder with percentage, do companies tell the drivers the rate for the load?

Yeeesh! Safeway?!?! I am not a fan of that spot either. It's so many different potato spots out in Monte Vista I can't keep up no more lolLumper Humper and Professor No-Name Thank this.

Legally they are supposed to be transparent with the rates as to what the load is paying the truck or what your getting your percentage. But I've had places tell me i was getting 27% of the gross before an then change the amount at pay time to cover extra expense. Like a project i was on once required we bag our trailers for some loads or one where we had a lot of tire problems cuz of running in a scrap yard all day. The company reduced the gross to help cover those costs. I didn't agree with it cuz i had signed on to get a % of the gross not a percentage of the gross - expense. But who ever has the time to fight such nonsense by jacking with the labor board. Anyway percentage can be good depending on the rates and ya really gotta trust the boss.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

This is true. Trust is the key when dealing with percentage. It could go either way. A couple flatbed companies like TMC pay percentage I think. When I was pulling flatbed for Builders Transportation, an ex-TMC driver came to work there. He was one of the few that I heard couldn't make money at TMC. He lived in Mississippi, and dispatch kept him close to home. I guess they send their drivers home weekly. Anyway, he kept having to pull lumber out of Mississippi and Alabama, so his money was up and down. Lumber at that time was, and probably still is, cheap freight. Though Builders is memory now, since Hornady bought them out.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

I'm spending the night in Greenville at Sauer. I managed to off load today, but they planned me for a pickup tomorrow heading to New Century. Running recaps can hurt your paycheck out here.

Really, I'd still been seeing BTC trucks every now an then. Hadn't heard about that buyout yet. Stuff like that usually pops up in the various news feeds. I missed that one tho.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

We're headed to denver for 10 AM at Safeway. If have to get taters tomorrow we probably won't be able to get outta safeway in time to get them till Saturday morning so I'm hoping to reload at the dairy instead.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

They rarely send us all the way thru with those tater loads. Usually have us drop em at craftsmen.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

I actually found out about it on here not long ago, I can't remember if someone said whether they closed the main headquarters in Memphis, as I haven't ventured on that side of town in a good while. They were a good company to work for.Professor No-Name and Lumper Humper Thank this.
