Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Starting a new job with Schneiders tank division next week.

DOTRA,
Wouldn't it be easier to shave the 'stache, get the job and re-grow the 'stache?
You'd rather be unemployed than be without a moustache for a few days?
Puzzled..... -
I won't say nuttin bad ! I'll be good, but some folks won't hire on without their dog, facial hair, etc, etc. Strange, if I needed work, I'd shave my nevermind!!

Very funny....

Good Luck to you!!!

After 35+ years at one company and now retired, I turned 60 years old last saturday. I'm not looking for a job because I need a job. I'm looking because I want one. With not needing a job being the case, I can say if I shave or not. and waiting is not a problem. But being 60 doesn't give me a whole lot of time for waiting.

Wow...35 years at Chrysler! That is incredible. Looks like a good time to retire from Government Automotive. I currently own my first JEEP/CHRYSLER product in more than 33 years of driving...Jeep Liberty and I love it...I know that isn't an official "Chrysler" product...but nevertheless.
Oh, and belated Happy Birthday! -
Well, I started out with my own truck this tuesday (the 27th) afternoon in Reseve, LA. I don't want to start telling everyone that this job is too good to be true but it has been rather easy going over the past 4 days. I've completed two loads and everything has gone smoothly. The first load being about 600 miles and the second at about 700 made for a good start since I didn't get going til 3 days into the pay week...which left me with only 4 days to make some money. I don't want to start throwing out figure$ but so far I've made more in 4 days than I usually made hauling gas in a weeks time!
I do want to mention that the amount of training that they put you through in orientation may seem to be a bit overwhelming. If you are planning on starting with this company and have NO tanker experience when it comes to using pumps and dragging hoses around be prepared for a wake up call. To my knowledge there are quite a few guys and women that just can't hack it. It's not for everybody. Some get intimidated with all of the proceedures that need to be followed as well as the amount of safety gear that needs to be worn but it's not only for the company's sake but for your safety as a driver as well. People see what a chemical hauler can make and immediately want to jump on the bandwagon. If you are a motivated person that likes to stay busy this could be your cup of tea.
Another thing to mention is that their orientation lasts 12 days. They do provide a hotel room for the entire stay as well as lunch and transportation to and from the hotel daily. The hotel is nothing great. The one thing that I found to be somewhat of an inconvenience was that there was NOT a laundry facility. I found this out several days into my stay and simply went to the hotel next door and took care of it there.
Orientation pay is something else that needs to be clearly stated from the begining. If you are planning on coming here make sure that you get all of the fugures including:
1. what you are supposed to be getting paid for the 1st week here.
2. What you are supposed to be getting paid for your training.
3. What you are supposed to be getting paid when it comes to mileage, loading pay, unloading pay and any other type of "pay" item that needs to be discussed.
Recruiters have one job and one job only...to get their money out of you once you become employed with them. If you have a few years under your belt and are a motivated worker you should be able to get about .38 cpm or more as well as $25-$35 for loading and unloading. Considering how crappy things are nowadays this is pretty good.
Well, I have to pick up a pre loaded trailer that I'm dragging up to Chicago from Shreveport. I'll try and post more about this job as time goes on. Sorry about the subject jumping. I noticed that I was all over the map when I was typing this. I have some video clips as well as pictures that I can put up later on but for now if anyone has any questions feel free to ask. Thanks to all that have wished me luck with this job. I'll be back soon!~
