Wow, this job is wayyy better than LTL. Night/day difference. Plus free coffee and 50% discount on hot food, haha.
Turbodriven, RockinChair and Jpmpagan Thank this. -
What tickets disqualify you from this job ? can you even have tickets on your license? I got a ticket for a no through trucks.
-
So it was being on a non truck route?

Welcome to the dark side brother. Once a tanker yanker always a tanker yanker. I've always said unless buster brown comes calling for one of those high paying feeder positions,I never wanna see a box or a dock again!Turbodriven and HiramKingWilliams Thank this.

Please tell us more. How's the pay & benefits? What do you like best so far, and what is everyone's biggest gripe?
-
I’m under training pay of $240/day for 5 days/week, but drivers have been under load pay until next week when the company converts all drivers to hourly. Starting hourly pay is $26/hr with O/T after 40/week. There’s 3 different schedules: Sun-Thurs, Tues-Sat, and Fri-Mon. The first two are 5-12’s, the last is covering the off days for those schedules and is 4-12’s. I’m on the 4-12’s. The 5-12’s is either day or night shift, something like 0200-1400 or 1400-0200. The 4-12’s is 2 days followed by 2 nights. Benefits start after 1-2 months, depending on hire date. The benefits look really good. Quarterly $600 safety bonuses plus 5 and 10 year huge safety bonuses.
What I like the best so far is the amount of driving I get to do. When I did LTL P&D, it was mostly drive a few mins then do a pickup/delivery, repeat 20-30x per day. Now it’s gonna be 3 loads and 3 drops, usually 1.5 hrs each way for 300+ miles/day. But I drove 400+ miles the other day, cause I’m going to 4 different locations during training.
It’s hard to say what everyone’s gripes are, but some of the load pay didn’t make sense, and I know that was an issue.
From what I can tell so far, it seems like a really good company.Cerberus XVI, Turbodriven, RockinChair and 2 others Thank this. -
Sounds really good. Please keep us updated, as I'm thinking about maybe applying myself.HiramKingWilliams Thanks this.
