residential delivery
______________________________________________________________
When I was doing ltl local work, I hated residential deliveries. A driver can get into deep trouble real fast on residential stuff. And then what the people expect out of the driver is unbelievable. I created a bunch of "ill feelings" when I was doing this. I would not do what the people expected out of me. I left one man's 800 lbs roll of carpet laying in his driveway and drove off, he made the mistake of signing the bill before I took action:smt041 :smt041

The TM here where I live is a jerk. 2 years ago we had 23.00 claim for a DVD that we never recieved. Driver said he gave it to a "little girl" that was in my yard. OK, so maybe he did? However it wasn't my kid and we never got the DVD.
Now we are considered bad customers. No driver releases at my residence. I have asked, the driver has asked and still the answer is no. I think this is uncalled for. Even all this time later still no budging on his part. I have lived in this house for 11yrs and had hundreds of deliveries from UPS here without incident. However let just one problem happen and Brown decides we are untrustworthy. Thanks for nothing Brown. -

My UPS story.
I had an unknown (at the time) allergy that kept me from driving. So I went to real estate school and became a realtor. While I was doing this, around thanksgiving, UPS was hiring part time dockwork - loading and unloading trailers. I worked 11pm to 3am 5 days a week. After christmas when they didnt need me on the dock anymore they asked me to take the sorter test, so I did. Passed no problem. So now Im a sorter. After a few months there was a driving position posted. About that same time, the VA figured out what my allergy was to (which is true but unbelievable) and switched my meds to something I can drive on. Since I had a CDL with doubles experience and was now cleared to drive, I signed up. After the union required 2 week posting requirement (they have to post jobs for 2 weeks internally before they can look for outside people) they took it down. I was told that I couldnt sign up for it because I was only part time.
A week or 2 later that same job was in the paper. So I applied. I was told that I couldnt apply because I was a current employee and should have signed up for it when it was posted...
I did I said.
Well would you like to go full time so you can signup for it next time?
No, thanks. I think I will just quit.
A few months later saw the job posted again. I applied. Sorry you are on our do not re-hire list.
I laughed. Wouldnt have been able to wear them stupid uniforms and obey all them rules anyway.
