you know i have read alot about stevens and a lot of other places.. i have talked to people that are in the business with other comp. and they all say the same thing.. the good the bad and the ugly... look it all comes down to this.. to make it in this business you have to drive and you have to put miles under your belt. my uncle has been driving for 30 years and has loved it about 3/4s the time.. just like any big comp you are going to have your bad apples and good ones... im in my 3 week and i have no problem with this comp or school... its all of what you make it... if you want to be home every night and just get a day job with coke or something... this is a job about miles and money the more miles the more money.. im happy i am with Stevenstransport and i cant wait to get my own truck.

Don't count on steer weight being allowed at 20,000. We had to restack a candy load by hand at a Wyoming scale house in the snow because the steer weight was around 13,000 and the tires were only rated for about 12,600.

And for others that may be wondering, freight is extremely slow right now (11/09). My husband drives Alliance and is getting 2200-2600 miles most weeks. After truck payments its getting hard to pay the bills.

I think the problem for Sexy Mama and her husband was because they are from Detroit. It is extremely hard for the Michigan drivers to get home, Stevens doesn't haul many loads that way. We were supposed to be in Michigan for Christmas '08. We got a Canadian load that put us in position to have the TO, but the driver that was supposed to run the load on into Canada (my husband can't get into Canada because of a DWI 10 yrs ago) had a load on him coming out of Canada going to Atlanta, GA. So our Christmas TO finally came about in the middle of January.

Double clutching is not fun r as easy as we all thought but with my crew I was one of the first to get smooth shifting down. We lost another classmate today due to physical results but he had everything in order but too late. We spent the whole day n the truuck today tho a lot of fun

this thread has gone quiet again. Hope everyone is working hard :)

I had to come to the yard this week, after hitting a buck deer near Quanan Texas, that took out the headlight assembly, and no Kenworth dealership in texas had one in stock.

The yard is backed up with students needing trucks, and the fact that stevens sold about 30 trucks to be shipped oversees to vietnam and russia. So the body shop is backed up getting all those trucks ready to ship, so stevens decides to send my truck over to the Kenworth dealer in Irvin Tx, with the parts they had ordered in.

I went up to see Cat, since I was now homeless. She asks me if I would like a new truck, and I answered if it is the 660. Tonight I am sitting in my T660 with all my belongings moved in and stored, boy I am glad for all those plastic drawers I had, as there is no storage space. As for the brakes, it will take a little getting used to, to use the top of the brake pedal instead of the bottom.

After arriving on the yard on Saturday afternoon, the worst time to arrive, I will be rolling again on Friday, with a virtually new truck, only 31,000 miles.

I feel like I am living in the lap of luxury now, after my T2000 with no apu, ruff ride.

for all of you new to Stevens, keep trucking, it does get easier, and for the old hands, keep those wheels on the road and turning.

Congratulations on your new truck. Did you have to sign a new lease?
