Me and Randy, you sound like a really smart person. NOT... It should be Randy and I. But i assume that you've never meet the head thief at Marten or your just acting like you 2 are best buds, But if you are then your one of the COMPANY SNITCHES. Just like the one who snitched on me and got his ### stomped in Gallup N.M.

I've been thinking about Martens rip off per diem policy and am wondering if the drivers are sending Marten 1099 forms at the end of the year for the amount of money Marten is charging as a "fee" for per diem. Also I wonder if Marten is reporting this as income to themselves to the IRS. Bet not.

I figured it once befor and it come out to about $ 1.5 million that the drivers lost, so maybe it was to pay admin. Fee's ...all it amounted to was the driver lost and the company gained. It was funny when i was there, all these drivers claiming to hav been friends with randy and all the suck ###'s that would drop a dime on ya in a heart beat.

It sounds like sleep deprivation is not in most truckers itinerary. Spent 20 yrs in the Navy with sleep deprivation. I think the trucking industry is like the military. "Its the Long Haul" you sign up for. If your not ready for "HURRY UP & WAIT" than OTR is not for you...!

Gypsy CG is just too good to be true ,your answers are text book perfect and everybody knows the industry just does not work that way. So the other thing must be scripted text uh oh ,don't text , that is while driving ,but we know that right.

    Tip,
You nailed it about life as a reefer driver. I just ended my short career at Marten this Monday (1.5 weeks) due to bumping and not damaging anything, so now I'm unemployed and a ding on my DAC.
In my five loads, I sure had to do a lot of waiting and still ran hard to meet unrealistic appt times.
Oh well, with CSA 2010 coming, I think they did me a favor sending down the road, plus I got a real neat bag that works great for my laptop.. lol

Boy you must really suck as a driver. I've worked for Martin for 2 mos. now. Find them to be fair. There loads are great. Appt. times easy to make, legally. And run 2800 or better a week. I have the truck I want, Make good money and no one screws with me. I do my job as a professional and they let me do it my way. Yea no company is perfect. There per diem is a pain. But you have to take the bad with the good, Get what you want and deal with the rest.
