Yes ... the reason it freezes is the windshield is colder at 60 mph . Best time to hit sprayer is at slower speeds which also helps keep mirrors cleaner.Trucking in Tennessee Thanks this.

The only effect wind chill has on inanimate objects, such as car radiators and water pipes, is to more quickly cool the object to the current air temperature. The object will NOT cool below the actual air temperature.

I add alcohol in the winter time, it helps to combat winter conditions, but I you have to clean your windows and spray your wipers with alcohol to get your best results too.God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

Used a lot of methanol in Colorado. We had to inject it into the lubricator to keep the wireline from freezing in the flow tubes.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

I probably shouldn't admit this but maybe it will help someone. I was reading this thread the other day. Then this weekend I ran in to the farm store to grab some dog food, wipers and fluid. They had this pink kind I'd never seen that said -50! It was right next to the -20 stuff I was about to grab so I grabbed it instead.
Threw it in the truck and left for the week. Looked at it today and it's freakin' RV antifreeze, it's not windshield washer at all. I should know better, I've had RV's and have used that pink crap but I goofed. Still p*ssed.God prefers Diesels and JoeyJunk Thank this.
