So my AD9 air dryer purges every two minutes. about 20-30 seconds before the purge there’s a small “rattle snake” like noise.

    2007 freightliner Coronado Detroit 60 series 12.7

I have a new compressor, purge valve, air discharge hose from compressor to air dryer(one metal, one is like a fuel line) both brand new from freightliner. I have a new air governor, new check valve on the air dryer. My PSI drops about 5 PSI and air compressor kicks on to get it back to 125 PSI and it purges.

I have a small air leak behind my dash on the red line for the trailer brake handle( have to get it replaced this weekend) but the problem started happening before then.

My primary air tank will have about 80 PSI after a full night of me parking and my secondary will have 0 PSI in the morning.

Can anybody advise as to what I should do next? This purging is driving me absolutely crazy. I can provide videos of the “rattle snake” like noise if needed.

I suspect the air from the governor that unloads the air compressor is leaking off somewhere between the governor and the air dryer.

I’ve triple checked all the lines. They aren’t leaking.

Possibly an internal leak on the purge valve in the dryer.

For clarification, are you saying the compressor cuts in at 120psi, airs up to 125psi, rinse and repeat?

Sounds like something is wrong with your governor then. It shouldn't cut in that early. Did it do this before you replaced the governor? I mean, is that why you replaced it, and it didn't cure the problem?

Yeah that’s why I replaced it. I replaced it like 2-3 weeks ago and last weekend I put in the new lines and a compressor and purge valve and check valve.
