So we bought a 2007 freightliner century st120 with a 515hp 14l detroit. It runs good but the clutch is slipping and at top of pedal.
My dad has it at his house and is trying to follow the adjustment procedure to try an easy fix before replacing. He said there is quite a bit more gap than the 1/2" that it should have with clutch depressed. The problem is when he turns the adjustment bolt it turns pretty easily but nothing happens. The gap isn't closing up. Any ideas?

Has someone else messed with it? You should have someone pressing the clutch in before turning the bolt, and you have to push in to turn the adjuster bolt. If it's turning freely without either of these, it's toast and time for a new clutch.

Pull the adjuster out and see if its stripped or broken. Sounds like someone tried to adjust it without pushing the pedal down or maybe went the wrong way.
As stated above, if the adjusters not broken or damaged, its clutch time.
