Roehl's Driving School

Well so far my first day went very well other than it took me forever at the drug screening place lol if you go with Roehl, on your first day make sure you wait before you use the bathroom or you'll sit in the drug screening place till you can get a big enough sample lmao. The Pre-Screening(Physical) was really not that bad all you have to do is take your time and breathe while doing it. You don't have a time limit with doing it. I have a total of 7 people in my class, they're great guys to be around and we all passed our physicals. We start driving tomorrow. I will only be in class for 2 and a half weeks because of thanksgiving. Which is good but bad at the same time lol. Well i have some homework to do and then i'm off to bed. I'll keep yall updated.

 

lmao i'm the only one in my class that is doing dry van. 3 flatbed and 3 reefers in my class lol.

 

day 2 - Spent half the day in the classroom and learned about "the roehl way" safety program. My instructor Steve is very good and very humorous about what he is teaching. The rest of the day we went out on the Range where we did nothing but shifting and making left turns. Shifting is a little more tricky than I thought got to get the timing right with the double clutching and down shifting. We meet with the Director again tomorrow on how our progress is doing. We start backing and coupling tomorrow on top of more shifting. Its getting harder and harder but i'm bound and determined to get through. I'm confident in myself that I will do well. Hope this helps I will give another update tomorrow. Goodnight everyone. Oh and the hotel here has a pool,hot tub, lounge, restaurant, exercise room , only down fall no coffee maker in my room lol. And there is internet here for people who have laptops

 

Day 3 - we spent 2 hours in the classroom today and the rest of the day out on the range practicing more shifting. My up shifting has improved a lot but my downshifting still needs a little more work. We started doing straight backing along with 45 degree backing around a stop sign. Took me a couple of tries getting the steering a little mixed up with the way I want the trailer to go. We also have a test tomorrow on chapters 1-10 and we start driving on the road tomorrow. Alot of driving little time to do it lol. We also had a meeting with the director again today about if we want to drop out early. Also have a progress report tomorrow and they want us on the road by tomorrow to get a good progress report.
