First they tell you January, then when February comes they tell you the first quarter is slow, then when April comes they tell you April is always slow. Get the picture? By the way can anyone tell me if the freight line to Arizona finally opened up for refeers? That was another fairy tale they keep telling us. Also please don't believe DSR's are your friends. They will hang you out to dry as fast as the managers. Just ask Lori S. in refeer. She did a good job on me.

A driver friend and one of my teachers told me the same thing.

    My question would be this.

If you aren't making it now, what makes you think it is going to be better as a L/O? Same lies from the company, and more!

When I try to quote I get time outs and can't respond, so I'm not ignoring or doing a post and run, lol, so going to try a quick reply, maybe I'll be able to respond...
Cheryl...they just started deducting that on his settlements, maybe it's an employment "milestone", I don't know. It's not being double deducted.
Gypsy...really no surprise as far as Roehl and true colors...one would have to fully believe that which is advertised to feel they're seeing things as a realization or revelation. They really haven't done anything shocking. 3 or so weeks of less than $500 paychecks, however, wasn't helpful...and yes he was available for runs, just once they got him in Wisconsin they'd continually run him like a local driver and well, that doesn't pay for squat. Try to request something long, the local run would last for 100 miles instead of 80. Yay. Complaining doesn't do any good. 2 different DSR's ran him like that, so switching those not overly helpful either, in fact the 2nd DSR ran him even more locally than the 1st one. He didn't request a new DSR, they just gave an excuse and switched him. We stopped those runs by switching divisions, they were grating on the nerves and whittling at pay. We're just biding our time until he gets the year of one company in (not for experience but longevity appearance), then he's going to be looking for hopefully something off the road. 10+ years on has worn us down. Things aren't getting better nor are the drivers, time to hope to find something localized.

If I remember right, you have to "opt in" for all of the insurances and as far as I know, no employer can take deductions out of your pay that you don't authorize. A quick call to payroll should clear it up for you.

When I was working for Lowes they notified us unless we specifically told them no! They were going to deduct 1% of our check for a 401K.

I remember well those little runs. I did quite a few Little Chute to Kaukauna and those Madison to Marshfield. I agree they don't pay. Just takes a big bite out of your hours of service. Hope things look up for you. Still no-one has told me if that freight lane opened up.

Well since switching divisions things have been a bit better.
<knock on wood that the honeymoon period doesn't abruptly end lol>
They're not perfect, but tolerable. He actually gets preplans more often than not now. He only got maybe a preplan once or twice before. That in itself has been nice, reduces the sitting and wondering what you're going to do next just to be dispatched at the last minute after whittling your hours away.
I don't know about anything about freight lines that may or may not be open, sorry.
Oh and yes, I saw that post in another forum, I replied to her via a PM =)

Well its been pretty quite here at the roehl thread since the
internet police at team roehl told grc56 to watch what he says.
As far as Im concerened he didnt say any thing wrong, didnt slander the company. All the poor guy is guilty off is being human and telling his story good and bad! I believe thats what people want is honest feed back on what life is like otr.
So come on people voice your opinoins, we can tell both sides of the story with out bashing the company . If roehl is a stand up company they should also be able to take some heat when its
due to their lack of communication and planning.:yes2557:

    Dam straight! :biggrin_25511:

..however, this type of behavior from a company would cause me to rethink a decision to join them....grc56 never said anything wrong or pointed fingers or named names....I am sure many companys lurk on here but to supposedly say something to an employee about speaking straight talk is bothersome to say the least.
